The timer does not appear
- Images are blocked. Many apps hide images until the reader allows them. The
alttext shows instead. - The code was pasted as text. Paste into an HTML or Code block, not a normal text block.
- The address is
localhost. Email apps cannot reach your computer. Copy the code from your live domain. - The timer is archived or deleted. The image then says “This countdown is unavailable”.
The time looks wrong
- Check the timezone under When it ends. The deadline is set in that zone.
- Apple Mail may have loaded the image early. Open the email again for a fresh image.
- An evergreen timer always shows the full length. The merge tag is probably not filled in. Send a real test email instead of using the editor preview, and check the tag on the Embed tab.
The timer does not move
- Outlook for Windows shows only the first frame. This is expected; the time shown is correct.
- The animation has finished. GIFs play for 15, 30 or 60 seconds. Open the email again for a fresh image.
- Show seconds is off. Without seconds, the timer is one still frame.
