How to set it up

About two minutes in the editor.

  1. Choose Fixed date and set the end of the sale, for example Friday 23:59 in your store’s timezone.

  2. Pick the Black Friday template or your own colors. Add a headline such as “Sale ends in”.

  3. Under After it ends, choose a message such as “Black Friday has ended”, or Hide so old emails show nothing.

  4. Add a link after it ends that points to your Cyber Monday page. Clicks from old emails then land on a live offer.

  5. Use the same timer in every email of the campaign. Extend the deadline once and all of them follow.

Tips

Get more from it

  • Send the last reminder 4–6 hours before the end. The timer does the urgency work, so the subject line can stay calm.
  • If you extend the sale, change the deadline instead of making a new timer, so emails already sent stay correct.
  • Turn on timer alerts in your account to get an email 24 hours before the sale ends.

Questions

Which timezone do readers see?

Everyone counts down to the same moment. A sale that ends at midnight in New York ends at 05:00 in London, and both readers see the same time left.

Can I extend the sale after the emails go out?

Yes. Change the deadline in the editor. Every email shows the new time on its next open.
