Expired states
Under After it ends, choose one:
- Message: a short text such as “This offer has ended”, up to 70 characters.
- Zeros: the timer holds at 00:00:00.
- Hide: the image becomes fully transparent. The space stays, but nothing shows.
If the deadline arrives while a GIF is playing, the animation ends on the expired state.
The smart link
Add links under Click-through link:
- Link while running: where clicks go before the deadline.
- Link after it ends: where clicks go after the deadline.
The embed code then links to /l/TIMER-ID, which redirects to the right address at the moment of the click and counts the click. For evergreen timers, “after the deadline” is per reader.
If you set only one of the two links, it is used at all times.
Animation length
Email images cannot run forever. Under Animation, choose how long the GIF plays (15, 30 or 60 seconds) and what happens next:
- Stop on the last frame.
- Loop the same seconds again.
- Show text, such as “Open the email again for the latest time”.
Longer animations make larger files. 30 seconds suits most campaigns.
